My practice focuses on the use of g̶̟̥͛̂l̷̮̱͝í̸̱͗t̴̛͙̀ç̸͆h̶̞̏̾, or the purposeful misuse of errors in systems, to discuss a fantastical view of transness and other intersections of the non-cisheteronormative mundane. By depicting bodies distorted by beautiful errors, I pose questions about the nature of being ‘other.’ My art challenges discussions being had about, but not including, trans people. My brief history of curation has adopted Muňoz’s call to ‘reading with queerness as expectation’ (Muňoz, 2009) and turned it to transness, searching for artworks which allow me to envision a trans futurity. My goal is to engage audiences by challenging their perspective of trans people and their comrades.
